It was written for the school. A code from 1 to 7, a percentage, a line or two of English. You read it, you see nothing obviously wrong, and you put it in the drawer with the others.
Then Grade 4 arrives and the work gets harder, and suddenly there's a problem that was there all along.
None of that is the parent's fault. The information exists — it's just locked in a format written for somebody else.
So we built Termlee. It brings the report card to life. Colour where there was a grid of numbers, plain words where there was a code, and the teacher's comments in your own language.
It notices things. A subject that climbed two points. A subject that slipped three. The small movements nobody circles in red — and the ones that turn into something bigger if they carry on. Every term, from Grade R to Matric, through every school your child attends.
And it learns your child's reports as they build up. Ask it anything — how is she doing in Maths?, what did the teacher say last term?, what can we practise this weekend? — and it answers from your child's own record.
It's early, and we'd like a small group of parents to try it with us and tell us honestly what works and what doesn't. Free while you're testing, and nothing to cancel.
Photograph the report card, or upload a PDF. Front and back, in whatever state it arrived home in.
Termlee pulls out every subject, mark and comment, works out what the codes mean, compares them against last term, and translates the teacher's words into your language.
Every report, every term, from Grade R to Matric. Watch a subject climb or slip across years — not guess from one page.
What the class is covering this week, and one practical thing to try at home. Set a goal with your child, and see how it went next term.
Leave your details and we'll send you the app, along with an invitation to a WhatsApp group where you can ask questions and tell us what you find.
